A Local Tree, For Local People
A composition I had planned for while, I’d seen the tree at the top of the hill every time I drove past. I originally planned to capture the field just after it had been ploughed with the furrows creating some excellent leading lines.
Sadly I missed the opportunity, despite the location only being a few minutes from home.
With the crop now well and truly established, I captured a series of images from around the field boundary - conscious not to enter or damage the crop.
Some might call it an ugly tree, I think it has character. Either way, makes for a great subject in the landscape.
Some fairly ominous clouds add to the composition but I think a good summer sunset would really enhance the scene; a return visit will have to be planned.
